The harmless sludge disposal rate has reached more than 90%; the sewage collection and treatment capacity and the level of harmless sludge disposal in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the Yellow River Basin, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region have been significantly improved. By 2035, the harmless disposal of sludge will be fully realized, the level of resource utilization of sewage sludge will be significantly improved, urban sewage will be treated safely and efficiently, and the whole people will share a green, ecological and safe urban water ecological environment. As enterprises in the water industry usher in a golden age of development, the 2022 China Urban Sludge Treatment and Disposal Technology and Application Advanced Seminar (13th) will also enter a new stage of development.
 
In recent years, with the rapid improvement of my country's sewage treatment capacity, the amount of sludge has also increased significantly. As of the end of June 2021, more than 6,000 sewage treatment plants have been built in cities across the country, with a sewage treatment capacity of 231 million cubic meters per day and an annual production of more than 60 million tons of sludge with a water content of 80% (excluding 4,000 tons of industrial sludge). million tons). By 2025, the annual production of sludge with a water content of 80% will reach 160 million tons (including domestic sludge and industrial sludge). Drainage departments at all levels should strengthen supervision and inspection in accordance with the law, and urge sludge treatment and disposal units to track, record and report the whereabouts, uses, and consumption of sludge in strict accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on Urban Drainage and Sewage Treatment"; All sites must be banned, and temporary sludge storage sites that do not meet the protection requirements must complete the renovation within a time limit; those who violate relevant laws and regulations to transfer, dump, and dispose of sludge shall be punished strictly in accordance with the law. It is necessary to open up the way out for the harmless products of sludge, "drive industrialization through resource utilization", and attract social capital to participate in the construction and operation of sludge treatment and disposal facilities.
