中國(guó)科學(xué)院院士,第三世界科學(xué)院院士和英國(guó)皇家化學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)院士。

主要從事環(huán)境化學(xué)和毒理與健康研究。1982年1月畢業(yè)于山東大學(xué)化學(xué)系,1987-1991年在中科院生態(tài)環(huán)境研究中心獲碩士和博士學(xué)位。1989-1991年和1994-1996年分別在加拿大國(guó)家研究院和比利時(shí)安特衛(wèi)普大學(xué)作訪問(wèn)學(xué)者和博士后研究。現(xiàn)任環(huán)境化學(xué)與生態(tài)毒理學(xué)國(guó)家重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室主任,中國(guó)分析測(cè)試協(xié)會(huì)理事長(zhǎng),國(guó)際著名雜志Environmental Science & Technology副主編。在加拿大Alberta大學(xué)、香港大學(xué)、北京大學(xué)等多所國(guó)內(nèi)外大學(xué)任榮譽(yù)教授及兼職教授。

研究領(lǐng)域涉及化學(xué)形態(tài)、分析儀器、環(huán)境過(guò)程與毒理、環(huán)境應(yīng)用及效應(yīng),在持久性有機(jī)污染物(POPs)、有機(jī)金屬化合物和納米材料領(lǐng)域貢獻(xiàn)卓著。其本人任兩期POPs 973項(xiàng)目首席科學(xué)家,國(guó)家基金委重大基金和創(chuàng)新群體負(fù)責(zé)人,國(guó)家973顧問(wèn)組成員,國(guó)家納米重大研究計(jì)劃專家組成員,國(guó)家環(huán)境咨詢委員會(huì)委員以及國(guó)家食品安全風(fēng)險(xiǎn)評(píng)估專家委員會(huì)委員, 全國(guó)政協(xié)人口資源環(huán)境委員會(huì)副主任等。作為新污染物領(lǐng)域的開拓者,他提出并推進(jìn)了我國(guó)持久性有毒污染物的研究,引領(lǐng)了新污染物的研究方向。作為我國(guó)重大科研儀器研制的引領(lǐng)者,領(lǐng)導(dǎo)并建成了國(guó)際首臺(tái)高通量多功能成組毒理學(xué)分析系統(tǒng),為環(huán)境中未知有毒污染物的篩查及復(fù)合效應(yīng)等的研究提供了全新的技術(shù)手段和通用平臺(tái),能夠強(qiáng)有力地支撐我國(guó)環(huán)境保護(hù)、食品安全及污染風(fēng)險(xiǎn)評(píng)估等領(lǐng)域的國(guó)家目標(biāo)。在國(guó)際學(xué)術(shù)期刊上發(fā)表論文1000余篇,出版中英文專著20部,應(yīng)邀在國(guó)內(nèi)外重要學(xué)術(shù)會(huì)議和著名大學(xué)作大會(huì)報(bào)告或特邀報(bào)告730余次。曾獲國(guó)家杰出青年科學(xué)基金,“長(zhǎng)江學(xué)者成就獎(jiǎng)”,中科院青年科學(xué)家獎(jiǎng),分別于2003、2011和2018年三次獲國(guó)家自然科學(xué)獎(jiǎng),2013年獲安捷倫“思想領(lǐng)袖獎(jiǎng)”。
